Indications
Provides effective treatment and control against the following parasites of cattle : - Gastrointestinal roundworms ( adult and fourth stage larvae ) : Ostertagia spp. including inhibited O.ostertagi ,Haemonchus placei , Trichostrongylus axei , T. colubriformis , Cooperia spp. , Oesophagostomum radiatum , and Strongyloides papillosus ( adult ) . - Lungworms ( adult and fourth stage larvae) : Dictyocaulus viviparus . - Other roundworms ( adult ) : Parafilaria bovicola , Thelazia spp. - Warbles ( parasitic stages ) : Hypoderma bovis and H. lineatum. - Sucking lice : Linognathus vituli , Haematopinus eurysternus , and Solenopotes capillatus . - Mites : Psoroptes bovis , Sarcoptes scabiei var bovis . It may also be used as an aid in the control of biting lice ( Damalinia bovis ) and the mange mite Chorioptes bovis , but complete elimination may not occur.

Warning & Precautions
• Ivon has no activity against tapeworms or flukes . • It has neither antibacterial or antifungal activities . • Louse eggs are unaffected by ivon injection and may require up to 3 weeks to hatch / Louse infestations developing from hatching eggs may require re-treatment . • Ivon effectively controls all stages of cattle grubs however , proper timing of treatment is important . For most effective results cattle should be treated as soon as possible after the end heel fly ( warble fly ) . • If cattle are vaccinated against lung worm , the ruminal bolus should not be given until 14 days after the second dose of vaccine .

Dosage
- 1 ml per 50 Kg body weigh ( equivalent to 200 micrograms ivermectin per Kg body weigh ) . - It should be injected subcutaneously in front or behind the shoulder. Withdrawal period : - Animals must not be treated within 35 days of slaughter for human consumption . - Don't use for animals producing milk for human consumption .

Adverse Reactions
Occasional transient oedema and pruritus in horses or transient pain after injection in sheep may occur.

Contra Indications
• Do not use in cattle producing milk for human consumption or in dairy animals within 28 days prior to calving . • Do not inject it intravenously or intramuscularly . • It is not administered to calves less than 12 weeks of age .

Drug Interactions
Some drugs could potentially increase the penetration of ivermectin across the blood brain barrier, such drugs include ketoconazole, itraconazole, cyclosporine and calcium channel blockers.
